-Shoes with sashiko, a traditional hand stitching technique in Japan-
Using Japanese boro fabric and other old fabrics, all of the items are sewn by hand.
Either German Trainer or Novesta Dead Stock sneakers are used as the base, and the sashiko technique is applied to them.
Sashiko was born at a time when fabrics were more precious than now in order to extend their usage with care. Cloths are layered and pieced together by the sashiko stitching to cover holes or to make the clothing for farming or getting through winter.
As those cloths are used repeatedly to mend worn clothing, they get smaller and fulfill their role. Even after it becomes a small piece of cloth, it is used as a patch until the end. The surface of the garment is uneven and has a different texture from the materials we use now.

-日本に古くから伝わる手縫い技法である刺し子を施した現代の履物の創作-
日本の襤褸、古布を使用し全て手縫いで仕上げています。
GERMAN TRAINERまたはNOVESTA DEAD STOCKのシューズをベースに刺し子を施しています。
刺し子は、まだ布が貴重な頃、長く大事に使うことを目的とし、裂（きれ）を重ねて上下に刺していき、穴を繕い農作業や越冬のために行われてきました。
布は”擦り切れては繕う”を繰り返して、大きいものから小さくなるにつれ役目を果たしていきます。小さな端切れになっても最後は当て布としてまた利用されていきます。表面には凹凸があり現代の素材とはまた違った感触があります。
